TEL Academy

Use This Resource

TEL Academy is an online training course for librarians to learn more about the Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL). The training content covers a range of topics and databases. The goal TEL Academy is to make you more familiar with TEL so you can help your patrons, students, and teachers find the "right" database or information for their learning needs. 

The content in TEL Academy consists of five (5) tutorials identified by respondents across the state as the top priorities needed to understand and explain TEL to library users. Following is the list of tutorials to provide an overview of the included topics:

  • TEL Website Introduction
  • Research and Homework Help through TEL
  • Test Prep and Career Tools Overview
  • Foreign Language Resources in TEL
  • Primary Sources and Genealogy Records in TEL

Completion of TEL Academy will earn 8 hours of continuing education (CE) credit. There is a course outline prepared for download by users who may be required to submit a document with a detailed course description. A certificate of completion is available at the conclusion of the material.
